The influence of geographic factors on the society as well as on different social realities had s... more The influence of geographic factors on the society as well as on different social realities had special importance within the whole history of social-philosophical thought. From this perspective, the theory of geographic determinism has emerged as the most essential conception. The supporters of this theory paid special attention to the geographic factors demonstrating and underlining the importance of their place and role in the process of formation and development of various social phenomena. This article mainly focuses on the place and role of military geography in the study, organization, and modeling of social processes.

This has led humanity to unprece­den­ted changes in the area of intercultural communi­ca­tion, and therefore requires new approaches in rela­tion to the investigation and analysis of co­exis­tence phenomena (such as conflict and peace), carries of different cultural systems. Chal­lenges posted by modern trends of globalization, are imposing to all the states the activation of inter-ethnic relations and communication, and this leads to the formation of a common cultural environment. In multiethnic societies reveals a variety of opportunities to communicate with different people, which provides good ground for knowledge about the differences and features, as their own ethnic group and other ethnic groups, and of course, are formed and developed the skills of intercultural communication. The article touches upon one of the most topical and controversial issues of the sphere of modern... more The article touches upon one of the most topical and controversial issues of the sphere of modern scientific research: the review, control and guidance of the effectiveness of the scientific activity of the authors through scientometric mechanisms. Drawing parallels between various historical periods and particularly highlighting the importance of the issue in the 20th century, the indirect but important influence and role of the Internet is emphasized. Some proposals and guarantees are also put forward which can slightly alleviate the frequent inequality and inadequacy in the field of assessing and evaluating scientific researches and researchers.

The article is devoted to the analysis of some of the features and characteristics of the most po... more The article is devoted to the analysis of some of the features and characteristics of the most popular database systems: Web of Science and Scopus; as well as to the study of the improvement of the qualitative aspects of scholarly journals considering their requirements the given systems put forth. It touches upon the ideas that scholarly journals should oversee their quality and care for their academic reputation which will inevitably result in the increase of quality citations and a positive change in their scientometric sta­tus.In conclusion, the article states: the 2 databases prove that despite all the shortcomings, the operating mechanism that evaluates journals, as well as gets regulated and determined by the number of citations, remains the only tool providing a more or less objective criterion that guides academic and related institutions during the process of evaluating researchers or the quality of researches.
