Hizan district is one of the best examples of this. Hizan has a very hilly topography. In the past, people is living in Hizan developed alternative medicines to treat their illnesses because of geographical structure and harsh winter conditions. This study was conducted in Hizan (Bitlis) district and it was the first investigation of the knowledge of tra-ditional medicinal plants used in Bitlis Province. This research aims to scientifically identify the medicinal plants used by local people and record the culture of traditional medicinal plants use of local people living in Hizan. Face-to-face interviews were conducted with participants with ethnobotanical knowled-ge and experience in 2018 and 2019 and the collected samples were prepared according to herbarium techniques. Consequently 71 taxa belonging to 29 families used for the treatment of 35 different diseases were identified. The traditional medical use of some taxa was...

The sample was prepared from students who participated in Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) in Turkey. These data consisted of 4816 15 year-old Turkish students in 159 schools. Analysis was done with two-level hierarchical linear model. These clustered data set with a two level hierarchical structure examined students nested within different schools. Two-level model was used to estimate coefficients and modeled differences across schools. Results from this study indicate that some of the school type, male students and computer use at home variables had positive effects and there is no significant role in students' mathematical performance between the First generation and Non-native students.

For GPFSSs, the distance measures such as Hamming, Euclidean, and generalized are given. Further, the basic characteristics of these distance measures are examined. Fuzzy and soft sets are strong instruments for uncertainty. This strongness has been demonstrated by the GPFSS combining Pythagorean fuzzy sets and soft sets and applied to imprecise and ambiguous information. In this context, new remoteness index-based methods have been proposed, which are dissimilar from available VIKOR methods. The displaced and fixed ideals positive and negative Pythagorean fuzzy values (PFV) were defined. Thus, based on this definition, displaced positive ideal remoteness indices, negative ideal remoteness indices, and fixed positive ideal, negative ideal remoteness indices were discussed. Two different weights are used here: weights based on OF preference information and precise weights calculated with the expectation score function. The VIKOR method given here provides a different way from canonical VIKOR methods: rank candidate alternatives and determining a compromise solution based on different preference structures. The processes principles of the newly defined GPFSSs VIKOR methods are given by four algorithms. An example of these algorithms is given with the behavioral development and cognitive development of the children of Early Childhood children in the COVID-19 quarantine.

Ancak belirsizliğin yoğun olduğu finans piyasalarında piyasa hareketlerinin doğru tahmin yöntemleriyle desteklenmemesi beklenmedik sonuçlar doğurabilir. Bu nedenle merkez bankaları, ülkelerinin finansal yapısını göz önüne alarak rezervleri ile ilgili tahmin çalışmaları yürütmektedirler. Piyasada meydana gelen dalgalanmalar verilerin klasik istatistiksel yöntemlerle modellenmesini zorlaştırmaktadır. Birçok çalışmada yapay zekâya dayalı tekniklerin doğrusal olmayan verilerin modellenmesinde klasik tekniklerle göre üstün performans gösterdiği belirtilmektedir. Bu amaçla çalışmamızda Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası (TCMB)'nın aylık altın rezervi Yapay Sinir Ağları (YSA) ve Holt-Winters Üstel Düzleme yöntemleri ile analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada Aralık 1987-Mayıs 2017 dönemine ait aylık ağırlıklı ortalama rezerv tutarları ($/milyon) kullanılmıştır. Toplamsal Holt-Winters Üstel Düzleme yöntemiyle elde edilen modelin performans sonuçları YSA modeli ile karşılaştırılmıştır. R 2 , MAPE ve RMSE değerleri bakımından YSA modeli Toplamsal Holt-Winters Üstel Düzleme yönteminden daha başarılı sonuçlar vermiştir.

However, learning these idiomatic expressions is one of the significant problems experienced by learners. The present quasi-experimental study conducted over four weeks in the ELT department of a Turkish university aims to investigate the effectiveness of teaching idioms via graphic novels compared to teaching them via traditional activities. Forty most figurative idioms selected randomly from the Michigan Academic English Spoken Corpus (MICASE) were used in a script and the script was converted to a graphic novel with the use of a computer software. The results revealed that participants in the experimental group who had learned idioms through the graphic novel performed significantly better on the post-test, indicating the efficiency of the graphic novel in vocabulary teaching. The study also offers recommendations for the use of graphic novels in the teaching of vocabulary.

In this study, the posttest-only control group design was utilized and quantitative data were collected in order to measure participant performances concerning two types of modality (audio or video) in a listening test. The participants, first grade students from an ELT program, were recruited and randomly assigned to two groups: audio-only text (AOT) (n=30) and video-only text (VOT) (n=27). Audio-only text (AOT) and video-only text (VOT) posttests were administered to the two randomly selected groups. Based on the results, the spread of the scores was wide in the post tests. In a nutshell, apart from texts 1 and 2, the AOT group performed significantly higher than the VOT group, despite the visual elements of the video. When considered all twenty items of the four texts, the significant difference found indicates that the audio modality was more favorable. This study examined differences in the effects of video listening text or audio-only listening text in terms of their effect on L2 test-taker performance. The quantitative results showed significantly higher success for AOT test takers. In other words, a consistent pattern presented in the listening comprehension test towards audio modality. However, the findings of the current research are not conclusive since various elements may have affected the outcome, such as motivation, physical factors, and topic familiarity, note-taking habits, and initial preference for audio or video. Therefore, further empirical research comparing AOT and VOT listening comprehension assessments is suggested to take into account these variables.

Also, it was shown that frequencies of the reasons of students' computer use. Two-level model was used to estimate coefficients and modeled differences across school types. Results from this study indicated that male students, students who have high self-confidence to use computer, students who have high economic, social and cultural status and schools which have quality educational resources have better scores in mathematics. However, female students and schools which have high student teacher ratio have lower score in mathematics. Furthermore, students, particularly female students, need greater motivation to use computers and teachers should integrate computer within mathematics and programs. Also, higher socioeconomic and cultural status of the family, higher educational background of the parents and students who find mathematics subjects important are the factors that increase mathematics performance too. As a result of this study, it is shown that some characteristics of student and schools, especially gender and quality educational resources, have a positive effect on mathematic achievement.
