Hello! I'm new to this community, but not to Yosemite! My family has been going to Yosemite for about fifty years now, and I've been going since I was 2 years old (I'm 24 now). I've only missed going three years. It's home for me.

I'm going on the annual trip next week, and am bringing along my friend who has never been tent-camping. I'm wondering what would be the best things to show her the first go-around? So far, the only things I can think of are the Mirror Lake Loop, Indian Village, Lower Yosemite Falls, and Happy Isles. She doesn't think she needs a proper pair of hiking boots, so I'm afraid to take her on some of the rougher hikes that I'm used to.

Oh, and the Telegraph fire going on right now is now 60% contained!
