International audienceIncreasing the efficiency of Armenian higher education system and its conti... more International audienceIncreasing the efficiency of Armenian higher education system and its continuous improvement are necessary conditions for development of knowledge economy in the country and boosting through it the competitiveness of the national educational system in the global economic order. In order to shape a knowledge economy, the country needs to promote the preservation and continuous development of its human capital and scientific potential. In this regard, the recent years saw a drastic rise in the number of scientific/educational centers or so-called “think tanks” in the Republic of Armenia. The 21st century has witnessed arduous efforts of world polities to endure the ups and downs of g... more The 21st century has witnessed arduous efforts of world polities to endure the ups and downs of globalization and has coerced many economies to step into the age of knowledge-based economies, subsequently triggering substantive changes in the domains of national higher education and research systems. Globalization, geopolitical and socio-cultural provident developments, and economic instable changes have drastically increased international competition, have intensified massification in higher education and rapidly advanced technologies to the level where these veracities necessitated radical and systemic transformations and reforms in higher education systems across the world.
The article touches upon fundamental definitions, concepts and components of educational security... more The article touches upon fundamental definitions, concepts and components of educational security. It also discusses internal and external threats to educational security as well as the importance of educational security from the perspective of the RA national security protection. The protection of educational security is significant for the country's stable economic development, national security protection, national competitiveness, country's intellectual, religious, scientific and professional capital and workforce, literacy and functional literacy of the population.

The endowment funds can significantly support the RA HEIs to engage new financial resources, to expand the scopes of financial autonomy and further develop cooperation with their main stakeholders.

Conditioned by current research and technological achievements, economic systems have undergone a... more Conditioned by current research and technological achievements, economic systems have undergone a range of structural transformations. Respectively, the targeted state policies in SMART specializations and investments in the processes of producing creative assets have served as a basis for the emergence of creative economies. These new advancements have also created new challenges for universities. In competitive economies universities have undertaken the missions of innovating and incorporating solutions into the educational processes by preparing professionals who will possess competitive knowledge and skills. The aim of the article is to conceptualize the focal role of SMART specializations in the successful development of creative economies in Armenia and Moldova.

Questioned document examination (QDE) is a forensic linguistics discipline pertaining to disputed documents and applying a variety of linguistic methods and tools to answer questions about a disputed document. More specifically, this article elaborates on the categorization of legal documents that are instrumental in the process of establishing the authenticity of documents in dispute.

The author suggests classifying these verbs according to three features – with reference to some instrument/tool (pointing to the use of a tool in the definition), with reference to some cause (pointing to the cause of the murder) and with reference to the manner (pointing to the way the murder was performed).

More precisely, the present article highlights the semantic features of these verbs that condition their causative nature. The article focuses on the investigation of only those verbs meaning “to cause to die” that are more frequent in speech, particularly the verbs to kill, to murder, to assassinate, to execute and to massacre. The linguistic data are borrowed from the British National Corpus.

More specifically, this article elaborates on semantic aspects of causation in legal reasoning. Linguistic aspects of causation in Modern English are instrumental in legal reasoning, particularly elaborating on the expression of the main features of lexical causatives due to their direct causation. A series of events form the causal nexus, in which the relationship is connected via spatiotemporally continuous sequences of causal intermediates. In spatiotemporal relationship of cause and effect, proximity is the criterion, which differentiates the causal connection.

The analysis of these structures and their interrelations has been conducted at two levels – surface (syntactic) and deep (semantic). The article aims to reveal the correlation of meanings of the deadjectival causative verbs and their valency, as well as to compare the semantic and syntactic structures of the sentences made up of these verbs.
