In the study carried out under laboratory conditions, according to randomized plot experiment design, full and 50% dose of 20:20:20 NPK commercial fertilizer was applied to hyacinth bulbs as inorganic fertilizer. Nitrogen-fixing bacteria: Cellulomonas turbata (TV54A), phosphate solibilizing bacteria: Bacillus-GC Group (TV119E), nitrogen-fixing and phosphate solibilizing bacteria: Kluyvera cryocrescens (TV113C)were used as biological fertilizers. In this study, the highest mean values of nutrients were obtained as nitrogen (N) 3.866%; phosphorus (P) 334.790 mgkg-1;potassium (K) 4.534%; iron (Fe) 152.453 mgkg-1; manganese (Mn) 26.739 mgkg-1; zinc (Zn) 46.517 mgkg-1and copper (Cu) 8.902 mgkg-1 (P <0.01) in hyacinth leaves, while calcium (Ca) was 1064.95 mgkg-1 and magnesium (Mg) w...

Soil salinity is considered as an important agricultural problem for dry and semi-dry fields in many regions around the world. It is known that salinity is an important stress factor restricting water and nutrient intake of plants. In this study, the physiological responses of hyacinth (Hyacinthus orientalis) exposed to different salt concentrations (0, 50, 100, 200 and 400 mM) were investigated. The stomata status, osmotic potential, proline content, chlorophyll and caretonoid contents and protein variances were examined in the plants exposed to salt. The physiological responses of the hyacinth varied depending on the salt concentration. Stress was kept under control at concentrations of 50, 100 and 200 mM; however, bulbs were decayed and necrosis was formed on the leaves at concentration of 400 mM. This study on hyacinth will help us to learn about tolerance mechanisms raised by plants with bulb against salt stress. It was ...

It is determined that the average fructose content inside the fresh needle foliage is 44.0-70.2 mg/100 g, average sucrose is 10.0-25.0 mg/100 g, average glucose 22.0-26.0 mg/100 g and average di-glucose (maltoz) content is 5.0-17.0 mg/100 g. It has been found that the free sugar content of berry is higher than the sugar content of foliage, except di-glucose. Spreading areas of the types of Juniper in Turkey is quite large 1,2 . Various organs of the juniper plant which is found along with the oaks in the areas of the inner frost have wide area of use in medicine, cosmetics and food industry 3 . Berries of the different plant types are different than the general food from the angle of price and advantages. The spread of the...

According to leaf analyses results, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, iron, manganese, zinc and copper contents were found between, respectively. The nutrient contents, except K and Mg, showed significant differences among the locations. However, there were no significant differences among the physical and chemical properties in soil samples, except, salt, lime and iron contents. While Fe content of soil samples had significant positive correlation with Fe contents of leaf samples, lime content of soil samples had significant negative corre...

This study aimed to determine the levels of soil nutrients utilization in hyacinth varieties grown without any fertilizer application. At the end of the study, it was determined that there were significant differences in the amounts of soil nitrogen, hosphorus, potassium, iron, manganese, zinc, and copper elements of the hyacinth cultivars, but all cultivars uptake equal amounts of magnesium. Nitrogen (% 4.11) and calcium (% 7.50) in Blue Jacket, phosphorus (0.61%) and copper (17.80 ppm) in Jan Bos, potassium (4:08%) and zinc (53.23 ppm) in City of Haarlem, and finally iron (1407.27 ppm) and manganese (56.26 ppm) in Carnegie hyacinth varieties were the most benefited nutrients. It was also determined that the cultivar Carnegie uptake the least amount of macro nutrients.
