This morning, I had the privilege of moderating the keynote panel, "Strengthening Connectivity for the AI Era", at the annual Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town. Sharing the stage with thought leaders from Vodacom, Standard Bank, Google, Meta and Orange, we dove deep into the future of AI-driven connectivity across Africa. Our panel addressed some of the most pressing topics and exciting opportunities on the continent, including: - The connectivity journey for AI and how can we build a resilient network to unlock AI's full potential. - Investment in infrastructure: With the right investments, high-speed connectivity can fuel economic growth and innovation in Africa. - Generative AI benefits, from transforming industries to driving efficiencies, GenAI has a critical role to play. - Regulatory challenges and opportunities and how we can collaborate with regulators to accelerate progress. - Leveraging new technology and bridging the connectivity gap. Access to handsets and devices, which will enable more people to benefit from AI. - The strategic use of AI and Edge Computing and how we can unlock real-time insights for businesses and communities. - Developing AI skills and tools so as to empower the next generation to lead in AI and connectivity. - Encouraging Responsible AI Innovation to ensure that AI development aligns with ethical standards. Thank you to all the panelists and attendees who made this conversation so impactful. Together, we are creating pathways to a connected, AI-enabled Africa. #AfricaTechFestival #Connectivity #AI #Africa #GenerativeAI #Innovation Accenture in South Africa - We're thrilled to share that our very own Belinda Motshome has been nominated for the House of Rose Professional Pte. Thank you to Anthony Rose and House of Rose Professional Pte. Ltd. for this recognition. It is much appreciated. This year’s award is dedicated to the Women at Accenture in South Africa who are actively making a difference in our Women’s Forum and ERGs, supporting advancement of gender equality. They are helping to create safe spaces for women to be their whole selves. Their passion is exhibited in how they persistently show up for others. Innately Ubuntu - “I am because we are”. We must stay the course to achieve equality together with our allies! We should be the change we want to see, not just within our comfort zones but expand our spheres of influence to other communities. Humbled to be recognised on a list of esteemed women across Africa, especially those I work closely with at Accenture, Edna Eason and Gugu Nyanda who lead us from the front in promoting #stewardship.#accentureinsouthafrica #womeninleadership #genderequality #betterworkingworld #recognition -
