This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected. By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
72A1 (mouse / mouse, hybridoma)
SPECIES: mouse / mouse
TUMOR: hybridoma
DSMZ catalog code: ACC 89
Morphology: single cells in suspension
Description: mouse hybridoma (anti-EBV) established by fusion of the P3X62AG8.653 mouse myeloma cell line with spleen cells of a BALB/c mouse immunized with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) particles; cells produce a monoclonal antibody (IgG 1 ) that reacts with a viral envelope glycoprotein (350/220 kD) and that neutralizes EBV confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, MDH, PEP B
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase positive
Depositor: obtained from ATCC (HB 168), Rockville, Maryland, USA
General Restrictions
Available in the following LABORATORY:
- German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ, Braunschweig)
90% RPMI 1640 + 10% FBS maintain at 0.1-1.0 x 106 cells/ml; split every 2-3 days at 1:3 to 1:5 at 37C with 5% CO2 1.0-1.5 x 106 cells/ml; frozen with 70% medium, 20% FBS, 10% DMSO at about 5 x 106 cells/ampoule; negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: isoenzymes (confirmed as mouse with IEF of AST, MDH, PEP B) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase negative)
Availability in cell line catalogues: ATCC: HB 168
