BF-45 (original) (raw)
This is the complete description of the cell line that you selected. By clicking on a generic term (e.g., SPECIES) you will go to the corresponding index (e.g., index of species), while by clicking on a specific term (e.g., retinoblastoma) you will go to the list of corresponding cell lines (e.g., retionoblastoma cell lines).
BF-45 (mouse / mouse, hybridoma)
SPECIES: mouse / mouse
TUMOR: hybridoma
DSMZ catalog code: ACC 221
Morphology: single, round cells in suspension (some cells adhere partly, but trypsin is not necessary to detach these cells)
Description: mouse hybridoma (anti-rat fiber/myosin) described as secreting a mouse monoclonal antibody (IgG 1 ) that reacts with rat embryonic fibers in immunofluorescence and with embryonic myosin heavy chains in Western blotting; established by fusion of NSO myeloma cells with spleen cells from a BALB/c mouse immunized with purified myosin from fetal bovine muscles confirmed as mouse with IEF of NP, PEP B
Viruses: ELISA: reverse transcriptase negative
Depositor: Prof. S. Schiaffino, University of Padova, Padova, Italy
General Restrictions
Available in the following LABORATORY:
- German Collection of Microorganisms and Cell Cultures (DSMZ, Braunschweig)
90% Dulbecco's MEM (4.5 g/L glucose) + 10% horse serum + 2 mM L-glutamine split saturated culture at 1:3 to 1:4 every 2 days at 37C with 5-10% CO2 maximal density at about 1.0-1.3 x 106 cells/ml; doubling time of ca. 25-35 hours; frozen with 70% medium, 20% horse serum, 10% DMSO at about 4-5 x 106 cells/ampoule; negative in DAPI, microbiological culture, RNA hybridization assays;
Validated by: immunological analysis (secretion of a mouse IgG1 monoclonal antibody) * isoenzymes (confirmed as mouse with IEF of NP, PEP B) * reverse transcriptase (reverse transcriptase not detected) Bibliographic references: - Dev Biol 1988;127:1-11 - PMID: 3282936
