DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Tryptose Phosphate Broth + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Ethyl nitrosourea induced tumour in C3H. The mice, originated in trigeminal nerve and brain; readily transplanted and resembles schwannoma histologically. Cultured cells form prominent processes, resemble 33B (ECACC No. 85081901) morphologically, contain abundant C type particles.
