DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Split confluent cultures 1:4 to 1:9 i.e. seeding at 1-3x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37C.
Passages: 22; A non-producer, Adeno 12-SV40 transformed chimpanzee skin cell line. The cell line has a high saturation density, exhibits colony formation in soft agar, is morphologically altered and produces tumours in nude mice.
