While this patch fixes the compile issues, there are other, functional issues that remain. Additional patching will be required, and since 4.X is no longer supported by the FreeBSD GNOME project this PR will not be committed. I can't seem to find a list of these functional issues anywhere. What exactly does not work on FreeBSD 4.x if the compile issues are fixed? I'm aware that the FreeBSD GNOME project does not support 4.x, but I suppose that you will take patches that come from outside if they fix the problem?

For starters, the init scripts will need work for 4.X. Additionally, there used to be some runtime issues that caused avahi-daemon to crash. I haven't tested in a long time though.

As for accepting patches, I would prefer all patches go upstream. Lennart is good about accepting FreeBSD patches.
