Maybe another option could be added, something like "Safe Suspend". That way you get the idea that it uses battery, but also that your data is safe if it runs out of power. That option would do hybrid suspend. What do you think?
Personally I find this more appealing. To me, hybrid mode seems conceptually closer to suspend than to hibernate, just with a safety net (and of course a much longer suspend time).
Just my 2 cents, though.
