I think DeviceKit and what we're putting in udev-extras can live side by side just fine.
Cool, that's what was worrying me.
And we probably want a separate udev-dbus-daemon at first, later we can experiment with merging it into udevd. That's tricky though, udevd starts before the system bus daemon and some people might have libdbus on /usr and /usr may be mounted late. Fun like that.
Yes, I think for that sake it's best to keep them as two separate binaries. People living on remote /usr are usually very vocal, and telling them they don't have access to any hardware might be a bitter pill to swallow.
