We are planning to drop 32-bit compatibility from the numpy macOS wheels.
+1 -- it really is time.
I note that python.org has finally gone 64 bit only -- at least for the default download:
""" For 3.7.0, we provide two binary installer options for download. The default variant is 64-bit-only and works on macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) and later systems. """
granted, it'll be quite a while before everyone is running 3.7+, but still.
