Seems to me they go somewhat beyond "preserving freedoms" and into other areas. It's one thing to allow people to use the source if they can get it; it's another thing to try to force people who have no interest in the source themselves to act as agents for hosting and distributing it.

Still, it appears that this is what the LGPL requires, so I agree that it's not appropriate for Python.
