This may well depend on your locale setting. At least on Linux there is a difference in default sort order in the sort program between LANG=en_US and LANG=C.

Occasionally autoconfig changes its mind about how to order this file. I think I've seen versions disagree about whether sorting was case-sensitive or not, and what to do with leading underscores, or something like that. --Guido van Rossum (home page: http://www.python.org/~guido/)
