I'd have to agree. In the same way that backticks are painful to deal with (they're small and non-obvious), the difference between
from foo import bar
and
from .foo import bar
is too small to be pleasant. I also have to wonder about the use case for .. and ... - looking through my code, I can't see anything where using ... rather than a fully qualified name would make the code any more readable.
