There's got to be a better way for people to share their preference on matters like these. Maybe we should create a Wiki page where people can sign up for or against any particular syntax. It would be easier to keep track of than trying to read all the messages in this thread.

PS Unspeakably horrible is a minor objection on the Internet. It's not really bad unless its untype-ably bad.
