I'll send another message once 2.4.2 is done. Do you think the patch at https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=305470&aid=1298449&groupid=5470 could go in before 2.4.2 final? It's a rather major issue within cStringIO.writelines().

Oh, I was looking at that one too :) I was going to check it in after building and testing finished...
