Sorry to seize on this point out of context, Anthony. I just want to prevent anybody from seizing on this as an objection on "backward compatibility" grounds. Nobody will be forced to use setuptools in 2.5, any more than anyone will be forced to use ctypes or elementtree or sqlite.
