PEPs are useful for question-answering purposes even after approval. The design phase can be cut short by simply posting the approved design doc.

not for trivialities. it'll take Guido more time to write a PEP than to implement the damn thing. is that really a good use of his time ?

why is python-dev suddenly full of control freaks ?
