The best I could do without hacking buildbot was to highlight the trunk "builder" links. This only works in Firefox, also because of IE's limited CSS2 support.

More could be done if the HTML generation was modified, but that didn't seem prudent.

I looked at it, and it would require quite a lot of changes to the buildbot, so I abstain from wanting such a thing (atleast for the moment).

Your regex-matching (or whatever the mechanism is) works quite well for me.
