I'm using it. It's not hypothetical.

Putting all the info I want in the decorator itself wouldn't be very nice in my case, or at least that's my opinion. One issue is that I'm also abusing a class statement to create a namespace for my extra info. Inserting that as a decorator argument obviously wouldn't be possible...
