This is an interesting thread, here is my 1c :-)

Unless one is feeling chronologically challenged, it is always the last layer looked in as Christian Heimes described, so maybe lastns or latter, or even zns.

Perhaps final or finalns sounds too similar to "finally:".

How about inbuilt :-?

I don't like finish, close, terminal, integral too ambiguous.

Poll summary so far (but without vote tally, and sorry if I missed any), including the ones above.

Rejected: builtin GvR "I want to keep both concepts" session GvR "too many unrelated meanings" python GvR "But ... everything becomes a Python thingie."

Humorous: guts pythongastric the_dictionary_where_all_the_builtins_are_now telescope uberglobal With and without umlaut zns

Cryptic / confusing: close final finalns finish global inbuilt integral rootns terminal

The others: basic builtin_namespace core default_root fixtures implicit inject_builtins lang last lastns latter outer py pythoncore pythonroot root This one is popular but has beed described as "too short" root_dict rootdict root_globals rootnames root_namespace syswide top universal +0.2 from me

I hope this helps to have them all in one list.
