One-liner summary: Would it be possible to change PyAPIDATA(type) into PyAPIDATA(type, variablename) to help portability to funny platforms?
Quick response: this sounds fine to me. Of course, changing it in 2.5.x is not possible, but making the change in 2.6 should be possible. I would like to see some explicit rationale being recorded in the source so that people know what this was meant for and won't change it back.
Regards, Martin
