Some new commands are added there, when they are helpful and don't interact with the rest. I am thinking about "uploaddocs" that let you upload documentation to PyPI. The goal is to move it to Distutils at some point, if the documentation feature of PyPI stays and starts to be used. This is already available: http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Sphinx-PyPI-upload How about helping the author of that extension make it work with Distribute or just get that implementation into Distutils core instead?
It's the case. The author is a Distribute commiter and he has added it in Distribute.
PS: its' weird, it looks like your answers to the original thread are not belonging to the thread anymore. Is that my gmail or something on your mail client.
