If you have evidence in the logs for one and not the other, then they are likely unrelated. I was speculating about possible issues with, say, the network fabric at the ISP, or something, which could cause apparent outages from the outside viewer's perspective, without necessarily leaving any trace on the machines hosting the sites, except a drop in traffic in the logs.
