Inertia, I guess. I tried that first, and it seems to work. I tend to use html5lib and/or BeautifulSoup instead of ElementTree, and that's mainly because I find the documentation for ElementTree is confusing and partial and inconsistent. Having various undated but obsolete tutorials and documentation still up on effbot.org doesn't help.
