The segfault isn't caused by faulty code but by a call to abort() in Py_FatalError(). The interpreter fails with an hard error because it is unable to locate the encodings package.

$ PYTHONHOME=/ python3.2 Fatal Python error: Py_Initialize: Unable to get the locale encoding ImportError: No module named encodings Abgebrochen (Speicherabzug geschrieben)
