I feel your pain, I truly do, but I think the name you ended up with is much better than "ignore(d)". Given that naming things is one of the two hard problems of computer science[1], I think that a bit of pain to get the name just right is worth it.
(You did decide on "suppress", right? I must admit I've only skimmed this thread.)
In any case, thank you for seeing this through.
[1] The other is cache invalidation.
