That's my impression too. There's nothing remotely horrible about "yield from". Although we should have done the right thing from the start, this is a lot of language churn to introduce now, not to mention annoyingly similar but incompatible constructs that make the language more difficult to understand.
So I'm rather -0.5 on the idea.
