No, LTS support should not be our concern. If you need a brand new version of Python on an old LTS or Enterprise version of your OS, please contact your vendor and buy support. You don't get to run old metal and play with shiny new toys at the same time for free.
Well, it's an additional annoyance for sure:
$ lsb_release -a No LSB modules are available. Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS Release: 14.04 Codename: trusty
I'm not in the habit of updating my OS constantly.
[Before this attracts some of the usual lectures, I know how to install OpenSSL, thanks.]
