This is just a data point. Some people seem to think that the construct is useful for asynchronous programming. In my experience it isn't. YMMV, etc.
Lets just forget about two SO questions and dozens people who up-voted it.
Just because someone asks a question doesn't mean they have a pressing use case. People are curious and will try constructs just for the sake it. Today I looked up the Wikipedia page for Gregorian chant. Did I have a use case for it? No, I was just curious.
