PROLOG top

   This manual page is part of the POSIX Programmer's Manual.  The
   Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the
   corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or
   the interface may not be implemented on Linux.

NAME top

   feof — test end-of-file indicator on a stream

SYNOPSIS top

   #include <stdio.h>

   int feof(FILE *_stream_);

DESCRIPTION top

   The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with
   the ISO C standard. Any conflict between the requirements
   described here and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This
   volume of POSIX.1‐2017 defers to the ISO C standard.

   The _feof_() function shall test the end-of-file indicator for the
   stream pointed to by _stream_.

   The _feof_() function shall not change the setting of _[errno](../man3/errno.3.html)_ if
   _stream_ is valid.

RETURN VALUE top

   The _feof_() function shall return non-zero if and only if the end-
   of-file indicator is set for _stream_.
