PROLOG top

   This manual page is part of the POSIX Programmer's Manual.  The
   Linux implementation of this interface may differ (consult the
   corresponding Linux manual page for details of Linux behavior), or
   the interface may not be implemented on Linux.

NAME top

   strcspn — get the length of a complementary substring

SYNOPSIS top

   size_t strcspn(const char *_s1_, const char *_s2_);

DESCRIPTION top

   The functionality described on this reference page is aligned with
   the ISO C standard. Any conflict between the requirements
   described here and the ISO C standard is unintentional. This
   volume of POSIX.1‐2017 defers to the ISO C standard.

   The _strcspn_() function shall compute the length (in bytes) of the
   maximum initial segment of the string pointed to by _s1_ which
   consists entirely of bytes _not_ from the string pointed to by _s2_.

RETURN VALUE top

   The _strcspn_() function shall return the length of the computed
   segment of the string pointed to by _s1_; no return value is
   reserved to indicate an error.
