wcscspn(3) Library Functions Manual wcscspn(3)

NAME top

wcscspn - search a wide-character string for any of a set of wide
   characters

LIBRARY top

   Standard C library (_libc_, _-lc_)

SYNOPSIS top

   **#include <wchar.h>**

   **size_t wcscspn(const wchar_t ***_wcs_**, const wchar_t ***_reject_**);**

DESCRIPTION top

The **wcscspn**() function is the wide-character equivalent of the
[strcspn(3)](../man3/strcspn.3.html) function. It determines the length of the longest
initial segment of _wcs_ which consists entirely of wide-characters
not listed in _reject_. In other words, it searches for the first
occurrence in the wide-character string _wcs_ of any of the
characters in the wide-character string _reject_.

RETURN VALUE top

The **wcscspn**() function returns the number of wide characters in
the longest initial segment of _wcs_ which consists entirely of
wide-characters not listed in _reject_. In other words, it returns
the position of the first occurrence in the wide-character string
_wcs_ of any of the characters in the wide-character string _reject_,
or _wcslen(wcs)_ if there is none.
