The Bofors Gun was a light, rapid-firing 40mm anti-aircraft cannon which had an effective range of about 12,500ft and fired either armour-piercing or high-explosive shells. Developed in Sweden it was used by Britain, France and the United States. It was also used as an anti-aircraft gun during the Second World War.
