John Staniforth steward to the Earl of Arundel

In 1592 Nicholas Staniforth Rotherham married Isabel West of Hampsthwaite, Darton.

William Stanyforth, of Rotherham, was an ironmonger. He was married to Issabell. Children of William and Issabell:

William died in 1657 in his will he left all his goods to his sons Jonathan and Samuel Stanyforth.

Samuel Staniforth of Rotherham, ironmonger died in 1668. In his will he leaves estates in Leekefrith (Staffs.) and Killamarsh (Derbys.) to his brother Jonathan Staniforth. Other bequests to his mother Issabell Staniforth, his brother John Swath of the City of London, ironmonger, his sister Sarah the wife of John Firth of Mansfield, Clerk, his sisters Elizabeth and Rachael Staniforth, and James Fisher, son of James Fisher, clerk, of Sheffield, for his maintenance at the University. Small bequests to servants. Executor: his brother Jonathan; Supervisors: Anthony and John Hatfield, his uncles.

Disney Stanyforth, was married to Mary(nee Skinner); they had a son Jonathan and two daughters who never married - Henrietta and Amelia c.1722 Firbeck

Disney Stanyforth, another son of Jonathan , was a merchant, to Thomas Owen of Grayes Inne London, the younger; married Mary Skinner, eldest daughter of Nicholas Skinner, merchant. In consideration of the marriage he was granted �2,000 plus the Swan Inn in High Street, Rotherham; land dispersed in the Town Fields of Rotherham(Brinsworth, Kimberworth, Catcliffe and Sheffield); land in Morthen including Morthen Hall.

Firbeck passed to Henry Gally on the death of Amelia:Amelia Stanyforth of Firbeck, spinster, only surviving sister and heir at law of Henrietta Stanyforth and Jonathan Stanyforth, deceased, and John Raymond of Bedford Square, to Henry Gally. The Manor and Lordship of Firbeck for �6,000 upon the trusts that on Amelia's death John Raymond shall enter on the inheritance.
