SUNY-Buffalo readings: Wednesdays @ 4 Plus + Walking the Dog

Readings sponsored by UB Buffalo Poetics 1963-2003

Most of the readings here are connected to two series. "Walking the Dog" programs were coordinated and recorded by Robert Creeley until 1990. "Wednesdays@4 Plus" programs (1990-2003) were coordinated and recorded by Charles Bernstein, working with Susan Howe, Raymond Federman, Dennis Tedlock, Robert Bertholf, and Creeley. While the Poetics Program as such did not begin until Fall 1991, we include on this page readings beginning in 1964 in Buffalo, associated with the State University of New York's English Department.

Several early recordings were made by Fred Wah, courtesy of the Slought Foundation.

See a Calendar of Events (1994-2005) at the Electronic Poetry Center and a pdf of posters (1990-2003).

[Note: _This recording was severely damaged. I have removed the worst parts, providing a sonic inventory of the reading, with many splices. I preface the event followed by an introduction by a poetics student from Portugal. I read translations by Odile Cisneros and Michael Palmer and also "Me Transformo" & Règis' tr. of my "Sign Under Test." --Ch.B._]
