Evidence (Red) File page 15, Malcolm's Frontispiece Apology, December 1983
TEXT:
APOLOGY
This is only a provisionally-completed script. MAKING NAMES was begun several years ago, long before the dawn of the of the word-processor era, and has undergone three complete re-workings and countless revisions. This may help to explain why it is typographically so messy and stylistically somewhat uneven. Although I regard the attached text as being the work's final incarnation in respect of both philosophical content and literary format, there are still many passages where the writing or argument suffers from clumsiness and there is still much work to be done in terms of refining details and highlighting sub-themes. I anticipate a final six-month session with a word-processor.
