Olivier Touzeau, 17 June 2020
Lac-des-corces was established in 2002 as the merger of the former municipalities of Beaux-Rivages, Lac-des-corces and Val-Barrette.
Beaux-Rivages (Beautiful Shores) was first settled in 1893 by Pierre Plouffe his son, Joseph, and the sons of his brother Lon. Val-Barrette was settled in 1894 by Thomas Brunet, from Thurso. Lac-des-corces (Barks' Lake) was settled in 1895 by douard Paquette, from Bay Mills, Michigan, US.
The Municipality of the Canton of Campbell-Est was established in 1911, on the very same territory as the present-day's municipality. The municipality of Val-Barrette separated from Campbell-Est on 28 July 1914. The Municipality of the Canton of Campbell-Partie-Est was renamed to Lac-des-corces in 1953, and divided in 1955 in the Municipality of the Village of Lac-des-corces and the Municipality of the Parish of Lac-des-corces. The latter municipality was renamed to Beaux-Rivages in 1984.
The municipality of Beaux-Rivages-Lac-des-corces-Val Barrette, established in 2002, was renamed to Lac-des-corces in 2003.

On the logo, the three trees emphasize the strong presence of nature on the municipal territory, as well as the merger of three former municipalities. The trees' ingenious design unveils a person with raised arms welcoming another one. This stresses the significance of the family values for the community's members. It represents the founding families, the young families that decide to settle there, and seasonal residents enjoying their vacation.
The three oval shapes in the foreground represent the lakes, valleys and rivers of the municipal territory, where several outdoor activities can be practiced (biking, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing...)
Globally, the image stresses the importance of life quality for all the citizens of Lac-des-corces.
The logo reflects an image of welcome and synergy between nature and family.
The French motto reads "The Bright Side of Life".
