The Royal Scottish Motor Yacht Club, who have their web site athttp://www.rsmyc.org.uk, write athttp://www.rsmyc.org.uk/a-short-history and in their May 29012 newsletterhttp://www.rsmyc.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/RSMYCmaynewsletter2012.pdf:
"... The club was founded in its current form in 1919 from the amalgamation of the Scottish Marine Motor Club and the Clyde Motor Club to form the Scottish Motor Yacht Club which had been in existence in the early 1900s.
... The Royal warrant was granted to the Club in 1920 in recognition of the services provided by members and their boats during the war.
The crown was added to the Club burgee and in addition members were allowed to fly the Blue Ensign having completed the necessary paperwork. ..."

Burgee

The newsletter carries a nice clear drawing of the burgee, which is beyond my drawing skills, but maybe someone else would be able to draw an image from that source. It appears to be blue with in the hoist a yellow four-pointed shield bearing in red a stem with a flower and two leaves of the thistle with above the shield a crown, and in the fly a yellow three-bladed propeller, with details in black. (I'm not certain of the type of crown.)
