Nyki Shipping
Founded in 2003, Nyki Shipping at Rhoon (NL) describes itself as a niche player in shortsea and inland navigation “from the Albert Canal (in Belgium, jm) to Istanbul”. Transportation includes bulk (e.g. steel) as well as special projects. In all, twelve vessels ranging between 2300 and 3800 dwt are operated. Flag: Antigua and Barbuda. Website(English): There, we learn that “Nyki Shipping B.V. was incorporated in September 2005 to bring together the established talents of Anglo Dutch Management Services Limited and VW-Nyki Shipping B.V.” the “VW” being a reminder of the days when heavy loads transporter Van Wingerden was involved.
Following services are rendered by Nyki Shipping (selection, jm): “technical management, fleet operations, financial and investment advice to clients, sales and purchase (…), crew recruitment”. VW-Nyki Shipping offers i.a.: “commercial fleet management, chartering and freight contracting, project management, port agencies”. I should not forget to mention that the company name recalls the family names of founders S. Nijveen and G. Kieboom: “ny” and “ki” respectively.
Additional source: ‘Schuttevaer’ no. 41 of 11 Oct 2008, front page: on-line archive page here: This source provides a good view of the house flag, photo detail (HH/foto Beentjes). (‘Larch’ ran aground at IJmuiden harbour but was towed away and was not seriously damaged.) Yellow field with large blue rectangle (or blue field with very wide yellow border) bearing white initials ‘NS’ without serifs.
I had never seen this one but – so it goes – pictures crop up once you know what to look for… See
following links for 'Birch’,‘Merle’, and ‘Maple’, all flying the flag.

Founded in 2003, Nyki Shipping at Rhoon (NL) describes itself as a niche player in shortsea and inland navigation “from the Albert Canal (in Belgium, jm) to Nyki Shipping. Whilst most ships are seen flying the "NS"flag sourced by Jan and imaged by Eugene, in 2006 the "Ivy" was flying a white flag with the VW Nyki logo. This was [is?] probably the flag of the founding VW-Nyki Shipping B.V., under whom Lloyds originally showed all vessels, possibly initially used by Nyki Shipping B.V. who Lloyds started showing at the end of 2006. I am enclosing the flag extract from the foto [which can be seen here], together with the logo as shown on the company website. There is one problem in that the photo does not appear to show the small wording of "SHIPPING" but going by the logo it is so small and faint that one would have to have a closer view to be absolutely sure.
