File Formats: Analyzed Layout and Text Object (ALTO) XML (original) (raw)
The Analyzed Layout and Text Object (ALTO) file format is based on XML and was created to describe the layout and text from a book or newspaper. The contents is typically the result or an OCR operation.
The LEADTOOLS Document Writers toolkit generates these files. You cannot load them as a raster image. They are intended for use in archiving content from books or newspapers.
You can specify the options for generating this format using the DOCWRTALTOXMLOPTIONS structure.
