This locality is one of the ~40 “genetically” related sub-localities (*) (revealed and/or summarized in Cuchet et al. (2022)) of the giant alpine rare-earth mineralization — with its topographical extension of ~ 20x45 km, in Switzerland and Italy — situated into one precise level of gneiss of the Monte Leone nappe.
In this locality, the REE-mineralisation can be encountered nearly in place above the Wannisee lake, in huge boulders fallen from the cliffs.
