Named in honor of Alla Nikolaevna Bogdanova (Алла Николаевна Богданова) (1947 - 2004), crystallographer with the Geological Institute, Kola Science Centre of Russian Academy of Sciences, Apatity, Kola peninsula, Russia, for her contributions to the study of new mineral species.
