Name:

Named in honor of Louis Jean Cabri (23 February 1934, Cairo - ), Canadian mineralogist, formerly with Canada Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology (CANMET), Ottawa, a world renowned specialist in platinum-group minerals (PGM), for his many contributions to the mineralogy and geochemistry of this group. Cabri described many new PGM species from localities around the world and was the coeditor of Canadian Mineralogist (1975-1982).
