The 2008 COSAFA Cup is the 12th edition of the football tournament that involves teams from Southern Africa. Due to their internal competitions calendar, Angola decided to send their under-20 national team to play in this tournament and South Africa will play with a "Development XI"; therefore matches involving Angola and South Africa will not count towards FIFA ranking according to FIFA. South Africa won the tournament defeating Mozambique 2-1 in the final. (en)
Die zwölfte Ausgabe des COSAFA-Cup fand 2008 zum ersten Mal unter seiner neuen Bezeichnung COSAFA Senior Challenge vom 26. Juli bis zum 3. August 2008 in Südafrika statt. Acht Mannschaften aus dem süd-afrikanischen Raum spielten hier um den Titel des Südafrikameisters. Südafrika gewann seinen dritten Titel. Die Vorrunde fand vom 19. bis zum 24. Juli in Südafrika statt. Angola trat mit einer U-20-Nationalmannschaft an. Südafrika entschied sich für eine „Development XI“-Mannschaft. Die Spiele beider Mannschaften wurden deshalb nicht in die FIFA-Weltrangliste gewertet. (de)
La Coupe COSAFA 2008 est la douzième édition de cette compétition organisée par la COSAFA. Elle est remportée par l'Afrique du Sud. Les Comores participent pour la première fois à la compétition. L'Afrique du Sud envoie une équipe B et l'Angola son équipe des moins de 20 ans ; les matchs de ces deux équipes ne sont pas considérés comme des matchs internationaux de la FIFA. (fr)
