3 Mustaphas 3 ist eine britische Weltmusik-Gruppe, die im Jahr 1982 gegründet wurde. (de) 3 Mustaphas 3 is a British world music band formed in 1982. Its core members are Ben Mandelson (under the name Hijaz Mustapha), (1954–2008) (under the name ), Colin Bass (under the name Sabah Habas Mustapha), and (under the name ), around which orbit many other Mustaphas – all supposed to be the nephews of Uncle Patrel Mustapha (Lu Edmonds). They claim to originate from the Balkans, but play music from various parts of the world. Their slogan, "Forward in all directions!", is an expression of this musical diversity. Active at the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s, they have now stopped producing and performing together, but haven't officially disbanded. Sono stati tra i primi gruppi a sperimentare la fusione di culture musicali diverse tra loro. I componenti fondatori del gruppo sono stati (con lo pseudonimo di Uncle Patrel Mustapha bin Mustapha ed in precedenza con i Damned), Ben Mandelson (Hijaz Mustapha), Salah Dawson Miller (Isfa'ani Mustapha), Ray Cooper (Oussack Mustapha), Tim Fienburgh (Niaveti III) e Nigel Watson (Houzam Mustapha). Nel 1987 entra nel gruppo Colin Bass (Sabah Habas Mustapha) e Kim Burton (Kemo "Kem Kem" Mustapha), hanno collaborato inoltre col gruppo molti altri artisti. Il gruppo ironicamente si presenta come originario della città di Szegerely nei Balcani dove avrebbe suonato in un club locale.
