dbo:abstract | Alastair Graham Walter Cameron (21. června 1925, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kanada – 3. října 2005, Tucson, Arizona, USA) byl kanadský astrofyzik. K jeho nejznámější práci patří teorie nukleosyntézy, zejména vznik nestabilního technecia v jádru červených obrů a zánik původní atmosféry Země. Svou činností významně ovlivnil americký planetární výzkum. Alastair Cameron se narodil v roce 1925 v kanadském městě Winnipeg. Po studiu v Manitobě a Saskatchewanu emigroval v roce 1959 do USA, kde působil v Kalifornském technologickém institutu, Goddard Institute for Space Studies a . (ar) Alastair G. W. (Graham Walter) Cameron (21 June 1925 – 3 October 2005) was an American-Canadian astrophysicist and space scientist who was an eminent staff member of the Astronomy department of Harvard University. He was one of the founders of the field of nuclear astrophysics, advanced the theory that the Moon was created by the giant impact of a Mars-sized object with the early Earth, and was an early adopter of computer technology in astrophysics. (en) Alastair Graham Walter Cameron (* 21. Juni 1925 Winnipeg, Manitoba, Kanada; † 3. Cameron starb 2005 an Herzversagen. L'astéroïde (2980) Cameron porte son nom. Studiò all' e all'.
